ABOUT THE AUTHOR
My background is mixed... I'm Armenian, born and raised on the divided (Greek/Turkish) island of Cyprus, with a few sweaty years spent in Beirut, Lebanon. By my 18th birthday our family emigrated to the UK. When I married Ben we moved to Orlando, Florida (also sweaty but with air conditioning). In 2001 we relocated to England where Ben completed a PhD (Theology) at the University of Durham. We loved the long summer days, local village walks, pansies on the patio, and the absence of cockroaches.

Allow me to take editorial privilege to comment on this photo. It was taken (shshsh, secretly/no photography inside) by steady-handed Ben when no one was looking, and very closely depicts the color and light inside Durham Cathedral on an average Northern (overcast) day. Shortly thereafter we were caught pointing the camera elsewhere and told to put it away immediately. And we did. For a while.
I love this photo because it takes me right back to when we were there with you at evensong. And here you are, still taking illegal photos and still at large.
It's going to be fun to see your photos and read about your adventures.
